Worship Arts

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir sings at services in the Christmas and Easter seasons and at occasional services in between. Members of the choir also sing in smaller ensembles every so often.

The choir puts a great deal of effort into the annual Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. In these concerts the choir gets to sing a wider range of music than we can use in worship. Choir members need to commit to singing at all services where they're scheduled and to rehearsing on scheduled Tuesday from 7:15-8:45.

People who are interested need to meet with the music director, Jose Shapero, in person or through the church office office@nbuc.on.ca

NBUC Band

The North Bramalea Band is made up of about 8-10 people, who play at services, special events and concerts. The team members change from week to week. Jose Shapero, our music director, schedules the team and leads the band in developing arrangements. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7:30-9:30.

The band is made up of people who play bass, drums, keyboard, guitar, lead guitar, and brass instruments. Because we work from sheet music with chord charts, interested people should be able to read music. If you're interested, talk with Jose Shapero in person or e-mail him @ office@nbuc.on.ca

Children's Choir

The children's choir is open to all children from kindergarten through grade 6. The choir sings about once every 4-6 weeks at the 11:00 service. It rehearses after church on Sunday mornings in the sanctuary during the school year. The choir also sings at NBUC concerts or at special events. No experience is necessary and children do not need to be readers. The choir motto is: "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir!" If your child is interested, talk with Bonnie Greene in person or e-mail her: office@nbuc.on.ca

Drama Team

The drama team provides short skits and dramas for worship as needed.. The team works from professional scripts; occasionally, it does improvisational drama, drawing on a person with improv experience in professional theatre, as well as other actors in Brampton theatre and in music theatre across the west end.

Qualifications: A sense of humour and a sense of stage presence. If you're interested, contact the team leader, Janet Stockton in person or through the church office: office@nbuc.on.ca

Sunday Morning Tech Team

Our tech team is made up of developers and operators, all of whom appreciate the importance of worship. The members bring skills in projection, sound, videography, and webcasting. The people in the tech booth are scheduled by Lynda Boucher, who also trains new folks, along with Lynn Dobson, and Doug Stockton.

Projectionists keep the visual support to worship flowing, using Power Point, DVDs, and videos. Skills needed include: excellent attention span and a sense of the flow of the service. Webcasting is also a part of the worship service for people who are unable to be physically present. A good ear for sound mixing is a crucial asset for this area. If you're interested, contact Lynda Boucher in person or through the church office: office@nbuc.on.ca

Videography

From time to time, NBUC makes its own videos to support worship or other parts of the life of the church. If you're a videographer and would like to contribute, contact Jamie Holtom or Bonnie Greene for information: office@nbuc.on.ca
