Volunteering Beyond Sunday
Pastoral Care
The NBUC Pastoral Care Team is passionately committed to serving the needs of men, women and children by providing care, food in crisis, support and transportation during times of illness, bereavement and/or loss of employment. The team also wishes to extend friendship, comfort and concern to the elderly and shut-in through friendly visits and phone calls. During any personal exchanges, there is an opportunity for prayer and spiritual conversation. Contact: Debbie Johnson office@nbuc.on.ca
Prayer Chain
This team is made up of people with a gift for prayer. Its members receive requests for prayer and ensure that these get communicated through the bulletin and Sunday morning prayer times, where appropriate. Contact: Trish Thompson office@nbuc.on.ca
Catering Group
The Catering Group raises funds by catering events such as funerals, receptions, and church events. New members are welcome. For more information contact Lynda Earl personally or via the office at office@nbuc.on.ca.
Facilities Ministry
Office Volunteer Group
This group meets on Friday afternoons for friendship and for some volunteer work that helps get work done for Sunday morning services (e.g. preparing bulletins, stuffing envelopes, orr working on special projects.) Contact: Alison McCulloch office@nbuc.on.ca
IT & Tech Services
Technology Team
NBUC's tech team manages one of the most important part of the church's support systems: sound equipment and audio design, IT for office functions and worship support, system maintenance and updating, plus DRM. People with a background in this area and an interest should contact Glen Buttrey or Gary Buttrey at office@nbuc.on.ca
Audio team
The audio system is supervised by Rob Brown, a sound professional in his day job. People who work in this area need an excellent sense of sound mixing, the ability to concentrate on the flow of the service, and capacity to stay cool if something goes wrong. office@nbuc.on.ca
Property Management
NBUC's new building creates many opportunities for hands-on work, from Do-It-Yourself work parties to jobs like small repairs, managing relations with people who provide services, improving the rooms where ministry takes place, rentals and so on. If you are a person with professional or informal capacity in this area, contact David Seunarine via the church: office@nbuc.on.ca
Finance Ministry
Finance Team
The Finance Team supports the Ministry Council in building and managing the annual budget. It also ensures the congregation has convenient ways to support the ministry of the church. If you have an interest in this area, contact George Watson office@nbuc.on.ca
